Most of these referrals are from lawyers who do not handle personal injury or contingent fee cases, but we also receive referrals from other personal injury attorneys who do not have the time, expertise or capital resources to properly pursue a particular case. Income from Co-Counsel and Referral Fees

As attorneys, you can generate a source of income with no overhead through referrals. Demas & Rosenthal regularly pays referral fees to other lawyers in accordance with the The Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of California. The Rules state that:

1. Referral fees cannot be paid to non-lawyers.
2. Referral fees may be paid to co-counsel attorneys on a case so long as the client(s) gives prior consent.

Out of State Counsel

Some of the referrals we receive are from attorneys outside of the State of California. We also frequently need experienced attorneys in other states for referrals or as co-counsel on our out of California cases. By teaming up with local lawyers on our out-of-state cases, we can give our clients the expertise of the local area as well as local contacts and reduced travel costs.
