Starting in the early 1900’s, the town was also called Cordova Vineyards, then Cordova Village, before finally being named Rancho Cordova in 1955, when a post office was finally established.

Today, Rancho Cordova is a thriving city, and it was recently recognized as one of northern California’s finest communities when, in 2010, it was presented with the “All-America City Award.”
