Many times clients come to us and the person that injured them is either not insured or has very little insurance. In fact somewhere around four out of ten people in the state of California are either not insured or have the minimal liability policy, which is only fifteen thousand. To protect yourself, what we tell all our clients, is to maximize the amount of their uninsured motorist policy limits. The reason it’s important to have a high uninsured motorist policy limit is because many times if you’re struck by someone who has no insurance or little insurance you may essentially be stuck with whatever insurance that other person has. If you have high limits for uninsured motorist we can make a claim for those policy limits, depending of course on the nature and the extent of the injuries. The more uninsured motorist limits you have, the better protected you are from being injured by someone who has no insurance or very little insurance.
