Which trucking laws might play a part in my case?

Commercial trucks and drivers have to follow strict federal, state, and local laws. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulates the commercial trucking industry. It has set laws for:

  • The number of hours a driver can be behind the wheel each day
  • The training a driver must completed
  • Use of drugs and/or alcohol by drivers
  • Truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
  • Weight limits for the truck itself and the load it can tow

The FMCSA also requires commercial trucks and trucking companies to carry certain levels of insurance coverage. Many times, trucking companies will work with their insurance providers to avoid paying damages in accidents. Demas Law Group, P.C., will work to make sure our clients collect the maximum amount they are owed.
