DUI in California

According to statistics from the California Department of Motor Vehicles, 1089 people were killed on California roads in 2011 due to drivers who were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The number of deaths caused by alcohol-related crashes is nearly 30 percent of the total number of traffic fatalities.

This high number of senseless deaths is due in large part to the negligence of the driver who chose to operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Even more importantly, however, a driver who chooses to drink and drive could kill or injure someone else needlessly.

Each state has its own laws and regulations, so it is important to seek the help of an experienced personal injury lawyer.

Those who have suffered the effects of a drunk-driving related accident have legal rights they can exercise to receive compensation for damages and losses. If you have been injured by a drunk driver, it is important that you exercise your legal rights and talk to a personal injury lawyer. Personal injury lawyers have extensive experience gathering evidence and building a personal injury case, as well as fighting for you at the negotiation table or in the court room.
